Our AGM is happening Monday 22nd June 2026 at the 1st Whetstone Scout Hut behind the Memorial Hall. These are the related documents for you to review.

We are still looking to fill several vacant positions within the group. Here are the details of the roles.

Health and Safety Advisor
Support the scout group in maintaining a safe environment for all young people, volunteers, and visitors. Help review risk assessments and safety procedures for meetings, events, and activities. Promote good health and safety practices across the group and raise any concerns when needed. Work with group leaders to ensure compliance with relevant scouting and safeguarding guidance.

Digital Content Lead
Manage and update the scout group’s social media channels with engaging and appropriate content. Work with the Website administrator to provide updates and content. Ensure all posts follow scouting guidelines, safeguarding requirements, and privacy expectations. Support recruitment of volunteers and young people through positive online communication.

Gift Aid Application Lead
Follow the HRMC to register our Scout Group for Gift Aid to enable us to successfully claim. Submit Gift Aid claims accurately and on time to help maximise fundraising income. Work with the Treasurer and leadership team to improve Gift Aid participation and compliance.

School Representatives
Build and maintain positive relationships between the scout group and local schools. Share information about scouting opportunities, events, and community activities with schools. Help identify opportunities for collaboration, recruitment, and joint initiatives. Represent the scout group professionally at school meetings, fairs, and community events.

Trustee
Support the governance and strategic direction of the scout group as part of the trustee board. Ensure the group operates in line with charity, safeguarding, and scouting regulations. Contribute to financial oversight, planning, and decision-making for the benefit of members. Attend trustee meetings and work collaboratively to support the long-term success of the group.

Policy Document Non-Technical Reviewer
Review policy and procedure documents to ensure consistency in language, structure, and formatting. Check documents for clarity, readability, and alignment with existing group policies. Identify duplicated, conflicting, or unclear information and suggest improvements. Support the creation of clear, user-friendly documentation for volunteers and stakeholders.

Section Team Member
Support the delivery of weekly Scout meetings and activities by assisting with games, outdoor learning, and group projects for young members. Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive environment by following safeguarding and health and safety procedures. Build positive relationships with Scouts, volunteers, and parents while developing confidence in mentoring and teamwork skills. Assist with the organization of camps, events, fundraising activities, and community initiatives as part of the wider Scout volunteer team.
